Job summary

Exelon Corporation is seeking a Distribution System Operator 1 to optimize and operate the electric distribution network safely and reliably. The role involves real-time monitoring, switching, tagging and coordinating outages with field teams and contractors.

You will work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as needed to support storm and energy delivery events. Qualified candidates will have at least 6 months in a similar operator role and a Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology,

Qualifications

• Meet job requirements of Distributed System Operator 1 job requirements AND have at least 6 months Distributor System Operator 1 equivalent experience.
• Ability and willingness to progress to higher Distribution System Operator job classifications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow established policies, procedures and guidelines on distribution system operations to maintain system integrity and reliability.
• Gather and analyze system data to determine feasibility of switching requests.
• Direct and supervise electrical switching, tagging and testing activities safely.
• Notify appropriate personnel to take actions during outages and emergencies.
• Maintain system voltages and loadings within acceptable limits.
• Keep supervisors informed of abnormal conditions and outages.
• Maintain accurate system status information on SCADA displays and maps.
