Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Cary, NC is seeking an engineer to lead distribution design projects, prepare construction sketches, and review work packages for 4 kV through 38 kV systems. You will work in a project team environment and interact with clients as needed.

This role requires an Associate's degree (or a 4-year non-engineering degree), 3+ years of electric utility distribution experience, and knowledge of design methods and codes such as NESC and NEC.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate's degree or a 4-year non-engineering degree.
• 3+ years in electric utility distribution or related experience.
• Knowledge of distribution design methods and codes.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman.
• Familiar with NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
• Experience with 120/208V through 38 kV projects.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Able to lead a project team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/review construction sketches and work packages.
• Coordinate overhead and underground distribution projects (4 KV through 38 KV).
• Perform field work when necessary.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
• Plan system modifications and oversee complex tasks.
• Provide construction support.
• Conduct client communication and interaction.
