Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an engineer to lead distribution design tasks in a project-team environment, reviewing work and coordinating with clients on overhead/underground facilities (4 kV–38 kV).

The role requires an associate degree or a 4-year degree, 3+ years in electric utility distribution, and strong knowledge of codes and tools such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS. Leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in design-related field or 4-year non-engineering degree.
• Three+ years of experience with electric utility distribution or equivalent review experience.
• Knowledgeable in distribution design methods and their application.
• Familiar with applicable codes and distribution software incl. AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman.
• Familiarity with NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
• Experience with complex overhead/underground distribution (120/208V–38 kV).
• Able to lead a project team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/review construction sketches and work packages for distribution facilities (4 kV–38 kV).
• Support preliminary project scoping and field work when needed.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
• Plan system modifications and oversee complex tasks.
• Provide construction support and client communication as required.
