Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to lead a project team in designing and reviewing construction sketches for medium-voltage distribution systems (4 kV through 38 kV). The role includes field work as needed and collaboration with clients.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in electric utility distribution, strong communication, and proficiency with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and PoleForeman. This is a hybrid position with opportunities to influence project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a design-related field or a 4-year non-engineering degree.
• 6+ years of experience with electric utility distribution or relevant experience to review work by others.
• Knowledgeable in distribution design methods and their application.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman and related software.
• Familiar with codes such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/review construction sketches and work packages for overhead and underground distribution facilities (4 kV through 38 kV).
• Support preliminary project scoping and perform field work when necessary.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components and plan modifications to the system.
• Provide construction support and conduct client communication as needed.
