Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team to tackle deep distributed systems challenges in the Serverless offering. You will work on node communication, indexing, allocation, and data management across a scalable cluster.

You will own features end-to-end, debug performance and concurrency issues, and collaborate across teams to deliver fast, resilient results on multi-machine deployments.

Qualifications

• Deep background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Strong core Java skills and knowledge of data structures and concurrency.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate core pieces of the next-generation Serverless Elasticsearch offering.
• Improve components for concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines.
• Maintain cluster coordination to keep performance high as nodes join/leave and data moves.
