Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Data Engineering team. You will design, implement, and optimize data streaming services across our cloud and edge platforms, focusing on scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions.

You will lead in building concurrent systems, reviewing code, and guiding junior engineers while working across front-end UI/APIs and backend infrastructure to ensure seamless data delivery.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience in distributed systems and large-scale networking.
• Proficiency in Java/TypeScript, Go, C/C++.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, or Shell) and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data streaming services on Akamai Platform.
• Develop highly concurrent systems with low latency and high throughput.
• Provide technical guidance and code reviews for junior engineers.
• Contribute to full-stack software from UI to backend for data delivery.
