Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a senior commercial business development leader to identify, shape, and secure large-scale workforce funding opportunities that drive enrollment growth.

The ideal candidate has an established network across government, workforce development, education, and the private sector to create access to new funding opportunities and to originate partnerships with seven-figure potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
• 10+ years of experience in workforce funding, economic development, public-private partnerships, or related field.
• Deep knowledge of workforce funding and how investment priorities are shaped at state/national levels.
• Established network of senior decision-makers across government, workforce and labor, economic development, and public-private partnerships.
• Proven success originating, developing, and securing large-scale workforce funding partnerships or initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Identify, shape, and secure workforce funding opportunities with seven-figure revenue potential.
• Leverage relationships with senior decision-makers in government and private sector to access funding opportunities.
• Anticipate workforce investment priorities and position ed2go in discussions early.
• Lead opportunities from origination through negotiations and activation.
• Develop partnerships involving state-funded programs and public-private initiatives.
• Build a pipeline of funding opportunities evaluating revenue potential and alignment with priorities.
• Represent ed2go in executive discussions and industry forums to originate opportunities.
• Collaborate with Government Affairs to engage key decision-makers and activate partnerships.
• Provide senior leadership with insights on funding trends and market risks.
• Travel up to 30% as needed.
