Job summary

Sanofi is seeking a Senior Director of Type 2 Immunology in Cambridge, MA to lead a strategic research portfolio bridging preclinical discovery and clinical development. You will guide expansion of targets, biomarker strategies, and translational efforts across dermatology, GI, respiratory, and rheumatology.

You will oversee cross-functional teams, drive scientific innovation, and partner with Clinical Development and Regulatory to shape trial designs and hypotheses.

Qualifications

• PhD in immunology or related field with 12+ years in pharma/biopharma research.
• Deep expertise in inflammatory biology, especially Type 2, and translational research.
• Proven leadership of cross-functional R&D teams in matrixed organizations.
• Track record of moving programs from early research to clinical translation.
• Strong scientific communication and publication record.

Responsibilities

• Execute and refine Type 2 Immunology research strategy and identify targets.
• Drive long-range research planning, portfolio prioritization, and investment decisions.
• Lead mechanism of action studies and disease biology investigations.
• Oversee preclinical and translational research from target ID to nomination.
• Mentor a high-performing team of research scientists.
