Job summary

Sanofi US Cambridge is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist in Type 2 Immunology to lead preclinical programs and translate insights into early clinical strategies across dermatology, gastroenterology, respiratory and rheumatology. You will operate at the interface of cutting-edge research and development, driving translational efforts with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a PhD with 8+ years of experience, strong leadership, publications in high-impact journals, and hands-on expertise

Qualifications

• PhD in Immunology or related field with 8+ years experience
• Experience leading preclinical research projects
• Translational research supporting clinical development
• Expertise in human and murine immunology
• Experience with single cell approaches (flow cytometry, scRNA-seq), multi-omic platforms
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
• Proven mentorship capabilities and publications

Responsibilities

• Lead preclinical research programs from hypothesis generation through execution, integrating findings into broader clinical strategy.
• Directly support early clinical and/or late-stage or marketed product programs, translating clinical insights back to research and driving translational strategies.
• Design and execute research programs with Development, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams as part of IEGP.
• Independently formulate research hypotheses and apply scientific expertise to design and execute experiments.
• Develop novel in vitro and in vivo assays using single cell approaches, multiomics, and imaging platforms.
• Lead cross-functional collaborations and manage stakeholder relationships across a matrixed global organization.
