Job summary

Solid Biosciences is seeking a Senior Director of Discovery & Translational Development to lead scientific strategy, portfolio execution, and a team of program leads within the DTD organization. Based in Charlestown, MA, this role partners with senior leaders to translate innovative genetics science into disciplined development plans.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 10+ years of industry experience in biotech/pharma discovery and translational development.
• Proven leadership of programs, teams, or major workstreams across discovery to IND enabling.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of scientific leads and translational development professionals.
• Oversee translational development strategies, including mechanism-of-action studies, biodistribution, dose‑response, pharmacology, biomarker strategy, and POC studies.
• Ensure preclinical models, endpoints, and assays are fit-for-purpose and aligned with clinical strategy.
• Drive portfolio decisions with risk assessment, milestone-based governance, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Contribute to IND-enabling strategy, regulatory interactions, and regulatory briefing materials.
