Moderna is seeking a strategic and scientifically rigorous Senior Director to lead the Translational Bioinformatics team within Cancer Vaccines and Bioinformatics Research.

This leader will define the computational translational strategy across Moderna’s oncology portfolio, and build capabilities to translate complex patient, molecular, and clinical data into mechanistic insights and informed development decisions.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, Biostatistics, CS, or related field, with 11+ years of relevant experience.
• Deep tumor immunology knowledge, including T-cell biology, antigen processing, and tumor microenvironment.
• Proven leadership of computational or translational teams in matrixed R&D environments.
• Strong cross-functional influence and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the Translational Bioinformatics vision across the oncology portfolio.
• Lead integrated analyses of tumor, immune, multi-omic, and clinical data.
• Forge partnerships across Clinical Development, Translational Medicine, Biomarkers, and Biostatistics.
• Advance AI/ML and scalable analytics with rigorous validation and interpretability.
• Build and develop a high-performing team of scientists and experts.
