Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced Technical Director, Traffic Engineering in New York. The role will oversee project delivery, staff development, and client relationships across NY state offices in Valhalla, NYC, Buffalo, or Troy.

The candidate will lead multi-disciplinary teams, drive technical excellence, and contribute to strategic growth of the Traffic Engineering, Safety and Intelligent Transportation Systems practice, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in traffic, ITS, safety planning, analysis, and design.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in NY or eligible for reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
• Proven experience with NYSDOT, MTA, and regional agencies.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with budgets, schedules and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and mentor staff.
• Oversee project delivery, budgets, schedules, and QA processes.
• Develop technical proposals, scopes of work, and budgets.
• Grow the firm’s Traffic Engineering practice across New York.
• Present complex technical information to executives and clients.
