Job summary

Abacus Group is seeking a Senior Director of Tax to lead the U.S. tax function from its Manhattan, NY office.

The role requires guiding tax strategy, compliance, and risk management across North America, with direct involvement in M&A activities and cross-border matters. You will advise senior leadership, coordinate with global headquarters, and drive value through tax planning, transfer pricing, and regulatory compliance while championing collaboration across finance, legal, and corporate

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant tax experience.
• Experience with foreign-owned companies with US subsidiaries.
• M&A experience is a plus.
• Leadership experience is required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the US tax function, establishing enterprise-wide policies, controls and decision frameworks.
• Advise CFO, executives, Board and HQ on tax implications of investments and strategic actions.
• Architect and implement a forward-looking tax strategy aligned with enterprise value.
• Direct tax leadership for all NA M&A activity including structuring and risk management.
• Oversee tax due diligence, transaction structuring and cross-border considerations.
