Job summary

Abacus Group is seeking a Tax Senior for a hybrid role in Manhattan, NY. You will prepare and review tax returns, develop workpapers, and collaborate with clients to gather information and deliver accurate engagements for technology and professional services clients.

You will monitor tax law changes, perform in-depth research on complex issues, and provide actionable guidance to optimize tax positions while ensuring compliance and timely filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• 2+ years of tax planning and compliance experience, preferably in tech and professional services.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and recommend solutions to accounting, tax, and technical issues as they arise.
• Prepare organized supporting workpapers for review and analysis.
• Collaborate with clients to gather workpapers, track items, and support deliverables.
• Develop understanding of Technology & Professional Services industries to deliver high-quality service.
• Prepare accurate and timely tax returns including income and sales tax filings.
• Monitor changes in tax laws/regulations and assess impact on clients.
• Perform research on complex tax matters and provide recommendations.
• Analyze financial statements to identify tax risks and opportunities.
