Job summary

MasterClass invites applications for a Senior Director of Talent to lead the team that finds, signs, and steward instructors for our original classes, certificates, cohorts, live events, and podcasts. You will carry a personal book of business, closing talent for our newest lines while guiding two directors on booking and two on talent relations.

You will partner with Creative, Production, Marketing, and Go-to-Market to convert access into signed instructors and maintain healthy relationships

Qualifications

• 12+ years in talent booking, talent relations, or representation with at least 4 years in a leadership role
• Proven track record closing high-profile talent directly with representation
• Experience leading a team or a strong player-coach track record
• Adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines with minimal oversight
• Fluency in deal structure, fee benchmarking, and contract terms with Business Affairs
• Experience with enterprise or brand partners demanding white-glove handling

Responsibilities

• Lead talent acquisition and talent relations team of four; set coverage across lines and ensure ownership
• Personally book instructors for programs, podcasts, and events; close deals with talent and representatives
• Negotiate and close agreements with talent, agents, managers, and enterprise partners
• Set and maintain fee benchmarks and deal structures across the slate; know when to walk
• Oversee relationships from first conversation through launch and re-engagement
• Own intake for talent requests with named owner and due date; document negotiating posture
• Report on slate coverage, booking pipeline, and instructor cost against plan
