Job summary

KIPP Texas Public Schools seeks a Director of Student Health Services to lead health programs across campuses, ensuring safe, high-quality care and alignment with district goals. As a senior leader, you will partner with school and regional leaders to implement strategic health initiatives, oversee budget and staffing, and drive improvements in student health outcomes while navigating state requirements.

Hybrid work arrangement; travel between campuses and collaboration with district teams

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with 5 years of direct patient care experience.
• School Nurse experience preferred.
• Master’s Degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience, incl. three years of direct people management.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; familiarity with school nursing platforms (Skyward, ImmTrac) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and program management for Student Health Services.
• Routinely evaluate program performance against annual targets.
• Identify, analyze, and apply nursing/medical research to drive improvements.
• Provide operational leadership and ensure compliance with health privacy laws.
• Maintain accurate reporting and state guidance-aligned policy updates.
• Coordinate Individual Health Plans and homebound services with Education teams.
• Coordinate state mandates (CPR/AED, immunizations) and safety committees.
• Supervise health staff and manage the budget.
• Lead hiring for district and campus health staff.
• Engage with Regional Superintendents, Heads of Schools, and campus staff; travel ~50% time.
