Stanford University’s School of Engineering is seeking an Associate Dean of Student Affairs to lead the Office of Student Affairs and provide school-wide leadership on student issues. The role reports to the senior associate dean and represents Stanford Engineering on university committees.

OSA manages TA allocations, graduate fellowships, and global programs, while partnering with faculty to address student needs, policy, and program developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; ten years of relevant experience preferred, or an equivalent combination.
• Experience in higher education setting strongly preferred.
• Ability to work constructively with faculty, staff and students at all levels.
• Strong leadership and strategic management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources.

Responsabilités

• Direct managers and leaders; build leadership pipeline and coaching.
• Resolve complex issues with university-wide scope and strategic impact.
• Provide strategic direction for a school or major function; manage programs, budget, facilities and staff.
• Counsel and collaborate with senior leadership on long-range planning and policy development.
• Make independent decisions on projects and programs with limited review.
• Manage policy compliance and respond to grievances.
• Help set internal policy direction and influence university-wide matters.
• Serve as senior advisor to the dean on programmatic development and policy.
• Lead major initiatives and drive implementation of project efforts.
• Represent school initiatives at senior meetings and external engagements.
• Partner with university entities to determine new business and technology initiatives.
