Job summary

University of Alaska’s ANSEP is seeking a Partnerships and Development Senior Director to lead all fundraising and external partnerships. The role requires expert-level fundraising, donor stewardship, and strategic advisory capabilities to executive leadership across a multi-source funding portfolio, with extensive travel across Alaska and the contiguous US.

The successful candidate will manage complex programs, supervise staff, and align development operations with UA leadership goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field plus four years in development or fundraising.
• CFRE certification is strongly preferred and Alaska Native Corporation or Indigenous community experience is valued.
• Familiarity with federal grant processes (e.g., NSF, NIH, DOD) and STEM education fundraising is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development and external partnership initiatives across philanthropic, federal, corporate, and foundation channels.
• Advise executive leadership on development strategy and risk management.
• Oversee complex multi-year agreements and multi-stakeholder relationships, including Alaska Native Corporations and tribal organizations.
