Job summary

ID Logistics US is seeking a Senior Director of Solutions Engineering to lead complex solution design initiatives across North America. You will partner with Commercial, Operations, Finance, IT and Customer Implementation to ensure financially viable, operationally sound designs aligned with customer requirements.

The role emphasizes RFQ/RFI/RFP leadership, large-scale distribution and network optimization, and cross-functional team leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in solutions engineering, industrial engineering, logistics engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience managing solution design functions or cross-functional initiatives.
Extensive solution design experience, preferably in a 3PL environment.
Proven experience leading large-scale distribution, fulfillment, and supply chain solution development.
Expertise in labor modeling, warehouse design, capacity planning, and operational costing.
Significant experience leading RFQ/RFI/RFP responses, including pricing support and client presentations.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, distribution center designs, transportation networks, inventory strategies, and automation.
Proficiency with Excel, AutoCAD, PowerPoint; WMS experience is a plus.
Excellent analytical, project management, communication, and customer-facing skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced financial modeling, ROI analysis, and capital investment evaluation experience.
Ability to travel up to 25%, with occasional periods of 50%.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of comprehensive logistics solutions for new business, expansions, renewals, and transformations.
Design warehouse layouts, storage strategies, and material handling for ramp-up and seasonality.
Perform labor modeling, capacity planning, and productivity analyses to support customer requirements.
Develop innovative supply chain solutions leveraging automation and technology.
Provide ROI, CAPEX, and operational cost analyses to support recommendations.
Ensure designs align with capabilities, customer requirements, and long-term scalability.
Validate assumptions, designs, labor needs, and financial models before client presentations.
Oversee projects by other engineers to validate operational design and financials.
Serve as strategic engineering partner throughout sales lifecycle, RFQ/RFP/RFI processes.
Develop cost models, throughput projections, and pricing strategies for new business and renewals.
Collaborate with Commercial and Finance on pricing and business cases.
Support site visits, customer presentations, and executive discussions.
Establish engineering standards, tools, templates, and best practices.
Lead value engineering to improve productivity, service levels, safety, and cost efficiency.
Evaluate automation technologies and network optimization opportunities.
Drive data-driven decision making via analytics and modeling.
Support customer onboarding, launches, and major transitions.
Recruit, mentor, and develop the solutions engineering team.
Foster collaboration across Operations, Commercial, Finance, IT, and Procurement.
