Job summary

Solid Waste Management Corporation in Albuquerque, NM seeks an experienced leader to direct and oversee a range of solid waste operations at the department level. The role includes policy oversight, personnel management, budgeting and inter-divisional coordination to support the Director.

The position is an unclassified at-will appointment requiring extensive experience in public sector environmental services and strong supervisory capabilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Operations Management or Environmental Science preferred.
• Seven years of experience in residential/commercial refuse collection and public sector operations management preferred.
• Six years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or ability to obtain by hire date.
• Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, oversee and supervise multiple specialized activities and operations of the Solid Waste Department.
• Coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments, outside agencies and other stakeholders and provide highly responsible administrative support to the Director of Solid Waste Management.
