Sandoval County is seeking a Solid Waste Manager to lead the Public Works Solid Waste Division, overseeing the landfill, composting facility, and convenience stations. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with relevant admin experience, CDL eligibility, and NM certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Planning, or related field with four years of administrative solid waste experience.
• Experience in landfill operations, regulations, and safety enforcement with two years in staff supervision and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate and administer the Solid Waste Division activities.
• Supervise staff, manage budgets and expenditures, and ensure compliance with county policies.
• Oversee landfill, convenience sites, and composting facilities and ensure daily operations.
• Coordinate inspections, reporting to State Health and Environment Department, and implement safety training.
