Job summary

Cloudbreak Energy, a Boulder-based solar and storage developer, seeks a Senior Director of Asset Management to build and lead the function overseeing the performance and long-term value of its growing distributed-generation portfolio. Initial focus includes 20+ solar assets in Colorado and Maryland.

You will shape O&M contracting, asset monitoring systems, and reporting for investors, while building a team and deciding internal vs external resources.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in renewable energy asset management or related fields.
• Proven experience negotiating O&M contracts and managing contractors.
• Strong understanding of solar PV and battery plant operations, monitoring platforms, and performance analytics.
• Demonstrated ability to create and implement systems, processes, and organizational frameworks.
• Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with distributed-generation portfolios strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel to project sites and vendor locations.
• Boulder-based or willing to relocate preferred, but remote candidates considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the negotiation, structuring, and execution of O&M agreements for the initial 20+-asset solar portfolio and all of Cloudbreak's future solar, solar + BESS, and standalone BESS assets.
• Manage relationships with O&M providers, monitoring vendors, and field service contractors.
• Design and implement the systems, tools, and processes for real-time asset monitoring, event detection, and resolution tracking.
• Prepare recurring financial, operational, and performance reports for investors and internal leadership.
• Build the long-term structure of Cloudbreak's asset management function and recruit/mentor personnel.
