Job summary

Cloudbreak Energy, a Boulder-based renewable energy developer, is seeking a practical General Counsel to review, draft, and negotiate a broad set of commercial agreements and provide ongoing legal guidance to support its solar and storage projects.

The role leads the legal function, supports project finance, regulatory matters, site control, and related corporate work, with a growth-focused, entrepreneurial approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in corporate, real estate, renewable energy or commercial law with transactional focus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyze complex issues and provide clear solutions.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (EPC, O&M, NDAs, project finance).
• Support development lifecycle: permitting, interconnection, stakeholder relations.
• Advise on regulatory matters, state/local tax, and corporate structures.
• Oversee contract processes: intake, execution, post-execution, templates and playbooks.
• Collaborate with business units to translate needs into clear legal terms.
• Manage external counsel and drive efficient legal operations.
