Senior Director, Sales & Business Development

This position is responsible for sales of all JMCRS products and services, including Mouse strains, Model Generation, Breeding, Reproductive Sciences, In Vivo Pharmacology, and PreClinical Services, to academic and governmental research centers, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology companies within North America. It is a key leadership role with daily responsibility for directly driving revenue growth in the assigned region. The primary goal is to achieve organizational sales targets through developing and leading the North American sales organization.

The individual will collaborate closely with various groups within JMCRS, including Marketing, Product Management, Technical Support, Customer Service, Project Management, Product Development, and Operations. The role involves overseeing a sizable team of field-based Account Managers, Regional Directors, Market Development Managers, Strategic Account Managers, and office-based sales enablement personnel. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, business leaders, and stakeholders is essential. Regular travel to JAX campuses and customer sites will be required.

This position is remote with up to 50% travel to sales meetings, conferences, onsite visits, and JAX locations as needed.

The salary range is $157,688 - $277,662, determined by qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the North American Sales organization to meet growth targets.
  2. Manage sales, accounts, territories, and provide training for team members.
  3. Travel to customer accounts and tradeshows, conduct in-person meetings, and train sales staff.
  4. Develop sales strategies with JMCRS leadership to meet financial and strategic goals.
  5. Prioritize key academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical accounts, focusing on growth and new business development.
  6. Ensure collaboration across teams to foster an inclusive culture.
  7. Build and manage relationships with key accounts across multiple research and therapeutic areas.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree required; Master's or higher preferred.
  2. 8-15 years of relevant sales and leadership experience.
  3. Knowledge of drug discovery and academic research ecosystems.
  4. Experience selling solutions and technical services to scientific and executive clients.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse individuals and cultures.
  6. Ability to lead a team to high performance, focusing on sales growth and account development.
  7. Strategic ability to build customer relationships and increase market share.
