Job summary

Pact seeks a Senior Director for Responsible Mining to lead the growth of Pact’s Responsible Mining practice. You will design and oversee high‑quality programs with community ownership, drive fundraising with partners, and align efforts with governance, peacebuilding, and market challenges in mining communities.

You will report to the VP of Governance and Sustainable Markets and guide cross‑team collaboration while managing a global portfolio. Hybrid role based in DC area preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 12+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including 7 years of management experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience implementing and managing multimillion dollar portfolios of public and private-sector-funded Responsible Mining-related projects and initiatives.
• Proven fundraising and business development experience with private sector, U.S. government, and multilateral donors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Responsible Mining team and foster collaboration across Pact.
• Oversee project managers delivering public and private-sector-funded projects.
• Lead priority projects and consultancy assignments in Responsible Mining.
• Develop a critical minerals strategy to drive growth and community empowerment.
• Contribute to governance, security, and market challenges in mining communities.
• Build business development for the portfolio, including funder relationships and bid prep.
