Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Senior Director of General Accounting with deep GAAP and IFRS expertise to lead regulatory, general, and M&S accounting functions. The role partners with senior finance leadership to strengthen controls, drive process improvements, and support rate proceedings across multiple entities.

The position requires 10–15 years of accounting leadership, CPA/MBA preferences, and proven ability to manage complex regulatory accounting in a multi-entity environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience with team management.
• Experience with month-end and year-end close in a multi-entity environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory accounting for US regulated utilities.
• GAAP and IFRS expertise.
• Experience implementing State Public Utility Commission Rate Orders.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership to General, Regulatory, and M&S Accounting teams.
• Ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance and accurate journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee regulatory accounting entries, assets/liabilities roll-forward, and cost tracking.
• Review inter-company billings and cost allocations for compliance.
• Approve balance sheet reconciliations and timely issue resolution.
• Support Rates and Regulatory Affairs during rate case proceedings.
• Prepare regulatory reports and support for regulatory filings.
• Partner with FP&A, Tax, and BU leaders for budgeting insights and process improvement.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors and respond to inquiries.
