Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a Senior Director of General Accounting to lead and oversee general, regulatory, and M&S accounting functions. This role partners with senior finance leadership to ensure record integrity, regulatory compliance, and process improvements.

The candidate will manage month-end close in a multi-entity environment, oversee audit interactions, and drive standardization of accounting practices, including ASC 980 and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• MBA or CPA license is a plus.
• 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience with leadership in multi-entity environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership to General, Regulatory, and M&S Accounting teams.
• Ensure GAAP, IFRS compliance and timely close processes.
• Oversee regulatory accounting entries, roll-forwards, and cost tracking.
• Review cost allocations and inter-company billings for proper recording.
• Coordinate audits with external auditors and respond to inquiries.
• Partner with FP&A, Tax and business units for budgeting and forecasting.
• Support Rate Case proceedings with data, testimony support, and analyses.
