Job summary

Moderna seeks a Senior Director, Head of QSP to spearhead strategic governance and hands-on leadership for quantitative systems pharmacology across discovery to clinical development.

You will shape mechanistic modeling, integrate multi-scale data, and guide dose and patient selection decisions while collaborating with Clinical Pharmacology, Translational Medicine, DMPK, and platform sciences to accelerate portfolio advancement.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in systems pharmacology, bioengineering, applied mathematics, pharmacology, or related quantitative field.
• 10+ years in QSP/mechanistic modeling with 7+ years in oncology drug development.
• Proven track record applying models to support drug development from preclinical to clinical.
• Deep knowledge of PK/PD, systems biology, disease pathways, and biomarker integration.
• Strong leadership and mentoring of quantitative scientists across sites.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/SimBiology, Monolix, R, or Python.
• Excellent communication to translate findings for executives.
• Regulatory filings experience using model-informed approaches.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute QSP strategy across priority therapeutic areas.
• Lead design and application of mechanistic models to inform programs.
• Integrate multi-dimensional data into multi-scale models for translation.
• Collaborate with Clinical Pharmacology, Translational Medicine, DMPK, and platform sciences.
• Oversee external vendors and CRO partnerships for modeling work.
• Represent Moderna in scientific forums and regulatory interactions.
• Ensure transparency, rigor, and reproducibility in modeling deliverables.
