Job summary

Moderna is seeking a senior Head of Translational Medicine to lead and unify translational medicine, translational research, and clinical pharmacology into a cohesive, high-impact organization. You will shape strategy across discovery to lifecycle management, aligning biomarkers and quantitative pharmacology to accelerate decision-making.

This role requires a PhD/MD/PharmD or equivalent with 15+ years in translational science and leadership.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in a relevant scientific field.
15+ years in translational science, clinical pharmacology, and/or drug development, with leadership experience.
Deep expertise spanning translational medicine, biomarker strategy, and quantitative pharmacology.
Proven ability to translate scientific hypotheses into clinical strategies and drive development decisions.

Responsibilities

Define and lead an integrated end-to-end translational strategy across Translational Medicine, Translational Research, and Clinical Pharmacology/Pharmacometrics.
Unify biological insights, biomarkers, and quantitative pharmacology to enable rapid, data-driven decisions.
Lead a high-performing multidisciplinary translational organization and partner across R&D.
Drive PK/PD integration, exposure–response, and modeling into program-level decision-making.
