Job summary

Confidential Employer is seeking a Director of Preconstruction in the Omaha area. This on-site leadership role requires guiding a high-performing preconstruction and estimating team while shaping major commercial projects.

You will lead strategy, budget development, GMP proposals, and coordination with clients and design teams to drive project success and growth. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

8+ years of commercial construction preconstruction or estimating experience.
Experience managing complex budgets, proposals, and estimating activities.
Leadership experience mentoring preconstruction/estimating staff.
Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, cost planning, bidding, and delivery methods.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and client presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Lead preconstruction strategy and planning for commercial projects from concept to groundbreaking.
Oversee conceptual estimates, cost models, budgets, and GMP proposals.
Manage and develop preconstruction managers and estimators.
Partner with clients, architects, engineers, and project teams to deliver cost-effective solutions.
Drive bidding strategies, improve estimating processes, and increase win rates.
Evaluate project risks, market conditions, and pricing profitability.
Lead client presentations and build long-term relationships.
Collaborate with senior leadership to support growth and market expansion.
