Job summary

The Nature Conservancy in Kentucky seeks an Associate Director of Philanthropy to lead multi-year donor strategies across corporate, foundation, and individual supporters. You will build and manage a portfolio of donors, develop compelling proposals, and work with cross-functional teams to align gifts with our 2030 goals.

This role emphasizes relationship building, stewardship, and strategic fundraising, including annual gifts of $25,000 or more.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience.
Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents.
Experience in asking for and closing gifts of $25,000 or more.
Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Experience, coursework, or training in fundraising principles and practices.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of 75-100 donors.
Raise an annual fundraising goal of $500,000 or more.
Conduct 400 moves and interactions during a Fiscal Year.
Manage and implement strategic and curated donor engagement opportunities.
Develop personalized written proposals and submit grant proposals.
Coordinate with Kentucky colleagues, Development Committee, and Board of Trustees.
Travel within Kentucky and work flexible hours.
Ensure compliance with policies and donor/legal/IRS requirements.
