Genuine Parts Company (GPC) is seeking a Senior Director, People & Transformation Communications to shape enterprise-wide messaging and lead communications for itsPeople strategy and transformation priorities at the Atlanta headquarters.

This senior role partners with the C-suite and HR leadership to translate complex workforce changes into clear, credible narratives, driving engagement, readiness, and alignment across a global organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, transformation communications, or change leadership in a large organization.
• Prosci certification or comparable formal change management certification.
• Experience supporting significant organizational transformation, including restructurings and separations.
• Ability to translate complex People decisions into clear, trusted employee communications.
• Strong storytelling, executive writing, and cross-functional alignment skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise communication strategy for GPC's People agenda, including workforce priorities, culture, leadership expectations, and organizational direction.
• Develop a clear, integrated narrative for GPC’s People strategy, connecting talent, total rewards, workforce planning, organizational design, and culture initiatives.
• Lead communications and change enablement for major transformation initiatives, including organizational evolution, restructuring, and the planned business separation.
• Partner closely with the Chief People Officer, Global People Leadership Team, and senior leaders on critical workforce announcements and sensitive employee communications.
• Translate complex People and business decisions into clear, trusted messaging that helps teammates understand what is changing, why it matters, and what it means for them.
• Design change enablement strategies that build teammate readiness and adoption, partnering across HR, business leadership, and Global Internal Communications to align messaging and sequencing.
• Measure and continuously improve communication effectiveness through feedback mechanisms, readiness insights, and innovative approaches, including AI and emerging tools.
