Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Director, Payer Relations to lead strategic payer relationships and negotiate contracts with PBMs, health plans, Medicaid programs, and other payers.

The role drives financial performance, network positioning, and growth through strategic negotiation and executive stakeholder engagement. Remote work is possible for qualified U.S.-based candidates, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in payer relations or related healthcare field.
• 5+ years negotiating contracts and managing financial terms.
• Experience managing a portfolio with revenue or market share accountability.
• Experience presenting, negotiating, and influencing executive-level stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract negotiations and manage payer relationships portfolio.
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies for financial, operational, and market-share objectives.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify risks and opportunities, and drive profitability and growth.
• Build executive-level relationships with payer organizations and collaborate with internal partners across Finance, Legal, Operations, Analytics, and Government Affairs.
• Coach and develop team members while contributing to negotiation best practices.
