Job summary

Oak View Group in Providence seeks a Director of Events to lead all management and operational functions for facility events, partnering with clients and internal teams to deliver safe, efficient, and outstanding service. This role directs Event Services and reports to the General Manager, with a focus on high-quality experiences and rebooking potential.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of event management experience in arenas, stadiums, conventions centers, or similar.
• Minimum 3 years in a leadership role related to events.
• Bachelor’s degree or greater from an accredited college or university, or related industry experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
• Production knowledge for concert setup, audio, lighting, and rigging is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all event management activities for facility events, including planning, coordination, and execution.
• Supervise staff engaged in event coordination, AV, food & beverage, security, and customer satisfaction.
• Recruit, train, evaluate, and discipline Event Managers and staff as needed.
• Prepare departmental budgets and assist in revenue forecasts.
• Ensure ADA compliance, safety, and exceptional guest experience during events.
• Oversee billing accuracy and manage deposit schedules and outstanding balances.
• Coordinate with exhibitors, promoters, and venue teams for setup requirements.
