Job summary

Oak View Group in Des Moines, IA, is seeking an Event Manager to oversee all aspects of assigned events from advance planning to wrap. You will hire and supervise staff, coordinate security, and ensure exceptional client and lessee satisfaction.

The role demands a bachelor's degree, 3–5 years of stadium or arena event management experience, and strong budgeting, communications, and production coordination skills. Flexibility for long shifts, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facility management, marketing, business or related field.
• 3-5 years of event management experience in a stadium, arena, convention center or public assembly facility setting highly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure and maintain composure.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage the logistics of events at the Iowa Events Center.
• Develop and control event budgets, including pre-show estimates and post-show settlements.
• Ensure timely delivery of event information to Finance for settlements/invoicing.
• Create event resumes in Momentus Software for client approval and internal use.
• Assist clients with event logistics and optimal facility use for various functions.
• Oversee production, setup, staff, and related contracts.
• Prepare event reports noting attendance and issues for continuous improvement.
