Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division in Omaha, Nebraska, seeks an Executive Director of Development to lead all resource development, donor relations, and public relations across the Western Division. This senior role builds strategy, oversees major gifts, annual giving, grants, and campaigns, and serves on the Divisional Finance Board as a key adviser to the Divisional Commander.

Travel within the division is required; a Bachelor’s degree and 5–8 years of fundraising leadership

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; five to eight years of senior-level development experience with fundraising success.
Proven track record in major gifts, planned giving, capital campaigns, and relationship-based fundraising.
CFRE, CAP, or similar designation within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

Serve as a voting member of the Divisional Finance Board and primary advisor on fundraising, marketing, and external communications.
Lead divisional fund development, public relations, communications, marketing, donor relations, and fundraising activities.
Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans for resource development and integrated execution.
Advise on impact of divisional strategies on fundraising, marketing, and public relations.
Represent The Salvation Army as a spokesperson and advocate for its mission.
