Fluor Corporation is seeking an Assistant Director of Civil Infrastructure to lead design consistency, provide strategic engineering guidance, and support construction for large-scale rail projects in California.

The role requires a 16+ year track record in civil engineering, California PE licensure, and strong leadership skills to partner with the PCM team and stakeholders across planning, design, and construction phases.

Qualifications

• Accredited four‑year degree in Civil Engineering with 16 years of experience.
• Effective communication with diverse audiences including management and clients.
• Job‑related technical knowledge to complete the role.
• Strong leadership, customer focus, business acumen and strategic thinking.
• Ability to translate strategy into actionable execution steps.

Responsibilities

• Ensure engineering documents, standards, and technical requirements are consistent across groups.
• Provide recommendations on complex issues, cost estimation, and construction support.
• Assist with developing and implementing policies related to engineering management and standards.
• Assist with planning, development, procurement, design, and construction activities.
• Manage engineering activities from preliminary engineering to design variances.
• Verify designs comply with engineering requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces between engineering and other functions, including O&M.
• Support executives on strategic matters related to engineering.
• Other related duties may be assigned.
