Job summary

Fluor Corporation in California is seeking a Construction Project Engineer for the CAHSR Construction Office. You will provide critical technical expertise to ensure design and construction meet CAHSR standards and regulations, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and regulatory agencies.

The role emphasizes technical review, design oversight, field engineering support, and maintaining safety, quality, and schedule adherence across large-scale rail projects.

Qualifications

• Accredited four (4) year degree in engineering and eight (8) years of work-related experience; professional certification or registration if required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors.
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Attention to detail and time-conscious and time-effective work.

Responsibilities

• Review and provide technical oversight of engineering submittals, construction drawings, and specifications for CAHSR compliance.
• Support resolution of design and construction issues including RFIs and non-conformance reports.
• Coordinate across civil, structural, geotechnical, systems, and environmental disciplines for design and construction integration.
• Provide input during constructability reviews and value engineering assessments.
• Assist in managing contractor teams for bidding, proposing, and deployment for construction; monitor progress.
• Develop and maintain engineering procedures, technical criteria, construction, and project documentation.
