Job summary

Central Transport seeks a Director of Facilities Maintenance to lead repairs and maintenance across 350+ locations and 4 corporate offices. You will develop strategic equipment upgrade plans and a preventive maintenance program to drive reliability and cost efficiency.

Lead a high-performing team, establish vendor relationships, and manage budgets while ensuring safety compliance and OHSA standards. Strong leadership and project-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing repairs, maintenance, and facilities management.
• Strong skills in mechanical systems repair, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical.
• Experience in large-scale renovation projects, both interior and exterior.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
• Knowledge of OHSA laws and local/state building codes and regulations.
• Experience negotiating service requirements and contracts.
• Proactive, well-organized, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic vision for repairs and maintenance for 350+ locations and 4 corporate offices.
• Create long-term plans for equipment upgrades, replacements, and maintenance schedules.
• Build and lead a high-performing repair and maintenance team with clear direction and mentorship.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety within the department.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for repairs and equipment procurement.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements at national, regional, and local levels for cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and manage repairs and maintenance budgets, including operating and capital budgets.
• Monitor KPIs to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to repairs and maintenance.
• Implement safety protocols and training programs to promote a safe working environment.
• Provide oversight to our Facility Maintenance software system (E-Maintenance).
