Qualifications

• 2–5 years experience handling all aspects of litigation in a major law firm or legal department.
• Background and working knowledge of General U.S. Maritime Law, including the Jones Act.
• Experience litigating passenger and crewmember claims.
• Florida Bar admission and ability to practice in both State and Federal Courts in Florida.

Responsibilities

• Litigate personal injury cases from inception through trial/hearing, drafting pleadings and motions.
• Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, medical providers, and experts.
• Provide updates to P&I clubs on case status and strategy.
• Manage litigation files: decide depositions, motions, records, and overall strategy.
• Conduct mediations to resolve cases and reduce liability.
• Perform legal research to support the company's position.
• Handle related tasks such as subpoenas and writs as needed.
