Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Director, Major Projects for NEW GENERATION (Construction Utility Projects) in Louisa, KY. This role directs all project management functions for a major generation project with budgets over $1 billion and leads a team to deliver on safety, schedule, cost, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 10 years of qualified experience in major construction/project management, portfolio management, and related areas.
• PMP certification is required.
• Valid state driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Own overall project execution including directing, guiding, and overseeing project management functions to successfully complete assigned project.
• Implement and oversee project safety program, monitor performance and address issues to achieve Zero Harm.
• Report on project strategy, procurement, engineering, construction, and budgetary requirements to Generation Executive leadership.
• Establish project contracting strategy and negotiate project contractor, EPC, and engineering agreements.
