Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a Director of Major Projects to lead EPC and generating-scale initiatives in Tulsa, OK. You will own end-to-end project execution, safety programs, cost control, regulatory interactions, and stakeholder alignment for projects often exceeding $1 billion in value.

Responsibilities include building a strong project leadership team, directing commercial strategy, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining safety and compliance across all phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Accounting, Finance or related field with ten years of qualified experience.
• PMP certification required.
• Valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Own overall project execution for major EPC and generation projects.
• Implement and oversee safety program to achieve Zero Harm.
• Report on project strategy, budget, schedule, and resource needs to senior leadership.
• Establish and negotiate project commercial contracting strategy with contractors/EPC and engineering agreements.
• Drive integrated schedules across workstreams and manage project budgets and contingencies.
• Build and mentor a high-performing project leadership team and manage stakeholder relationships.
