Job summary

KBR is seeking a Director of Legislative Affairs to lead congressional engagement and policy strategy from our Washington, D.C. office. This role drives advocacy across national security, space, and defense sectors, coordinating with leadership to shape funding priorities and legislative outcomes.

The position demands substantial experience with Congress, strong policy analysis, and a proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships while ensuring compliance with lobbying requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Government, Communications, Business or related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in legislative affairs or government relations.
• Active Secret security clearance or higher.
• Experience with Congress on defense, intelligence, homeland security, federal civilian, space, NASA, NOAA, or related national security issues.
• Experience supporting authorization and appropriations matters within the U.S. Congress.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for KBR priorities across national security, intelligence, defense, readiness and sustainment, logistics, space, and related sectors.
• Build and maintain bipartisan relationships with Members of Congress, staff, and committees.
• Represent KBR before Congress to advance legislative priorities and company interests.
• Develop and execute legislative engagement strategies aligned with government relations goals.
• Monitor and report on congressional activity, legislation, and policy developments affecting KBR.
