Job summary

KBR’s Exploration & Logistics (E&L) unit seeks a Senior Director, Business Development to drive strategic growth across defense, federal civilian, logistics, engineering, and space markets. You will shape and capture new opportunities, building long-term customer relationships and growth strategies aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate has a proven BD/capture track record, strong government relationships, and deep knowledge of acquisition processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field is required.
• 10+ years leading business development, capture, or strategic planning for U.S. Government customers.
• Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and government contracting practices.
• Proven ability to build relationships with senior government and industry leaders.
• Experience developing capture strategies, win themes, and competitive positioning.
• Ability to travel 25–50% as business needs require.
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic BD and capture plans aligned with Exploration & Logistics growth.
• Identify, qualify, shape, and pursue new opportunities across defense, federal civilian, logistics, and space markets.
• Lead capture throughout the BD lifecycle: opportunity identification, qualification, positioning, teaming, proposal strategy, and award.
• Build executive relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
• Develop customer engagement strategies to expand market presence.
• Collaborate with operational leadership to align growth with capabilities.
• Maintain a robust pipeline using BD processes and tools.
• Lead win strategies, competitive analyses, and capture plans; support market trends analysis.
• Mentor BD and capture personnel; ensure accurate forecasting and growth metrics.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related field

Master’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Science, Public Administration, or a related discipline
