Job summary

Interstate Premier Facility Services seeks a Director of Operations to lead our cleaning and custodial operations across multiple Phoenix-area facilities. You will develop strategic initiatives, oversee daily operations, and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.

You will manage custodial teams, implement policies, optimize staffing, and drive continuous improvement through data and new technologies while upholding OSHA compliance and a culture of accountability.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive operations leadership experience in janitorial/facilities management or related services.
• Extensive janitorial/industrial cleaning and facilities maintenance background.
• Proven leadership of large custodial teams in fast-paced environments.
• Expertise in floor care techniques (buffing, stripping, sealing, polishing).
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to custodial work and OSHA compliance.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for training and cross-department coordination.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive janitorial policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent service quality across all sites.
• Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of custodial staff, including supervisors and frontline cleaners, to achieve operational excellence.
• Oversee scheduling, staffing levels, training programs, and performance evaluations to optimize team productivity.
• Coordinate with facilities management to plan and execute routine cleaning, deep cleaning, floor care, and specialized maintenance tasks.
• Monitor supply inventory levels; order and manage cleaning supplies, equipment maintenance, and safety gear to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct regular inspections to verify cleanliness standards are met; address deficiencies promptly with corrective actions.
• Collaborate with health and safety teams to enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing operational data, implementing innovative cleaning techniques, and adopting new technologies.
