Job summary

Axonic Insurance seeks a Director, Insurance ALM & Asset Allocation to lead ALM analytics for the fixed annuity portfolio and steer strategic and tactical asset allocation to optimize liability-driven results. You will partner with investment, actuarial, product, and finance teams to support capital, liquidity, and risk analytics, presenting recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Approximately 5-10+ years of relevant experience in insurance investment management or ALM.
• Strong understanding of fixed income and ALM concepts with portfolio optimization experience.
• Experience with strategic/tactical asset allocation and capital/liquidity considerations.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling; familiarity with Bloomberg, Python, SQL, or similar tools is a plus.
• CFA designation or progress toward CFA or actuarial credentials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own ALM analytics for fixed annuity liabilities, including duration and convexity matching.
• Develop and evaluate liability scenarios and translate results into portfolio actions.
• Coordinate with actuarial partners on cash flows, assumptions, and reporting.
• Lead strategic asset allocation and manage governance materials and implementation.
• Perform tactical asset allocation and risk/return analysis across asset classes.
• Build tools for portfolio construction, optimization, and decision support.
• Evaluate new asset classes and investment programs for portfolio fit.
• Collaborate with investment teams across public and private fixed income assets.
