Overview
Axonic Insurance, a newly formed NYC-based insurance business, is seeking a KYC/AML Team Lead to oversee and mentor a team of analysts responsible for AML screenings on annuity applications. This role ensures compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, develops departmental policies and procedures, and drives operational excellence. Reporting to the Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting the firm, maintaining compliance, and fostering a culture of integrity.
Base pay
$80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of AML/KYC Analysts.
- Oversee the full AML/KYC process, including alert management and screening volumes.
- Identify, assess, and escalate potential risks associated with client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with AML/KYC regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all AML/KYC activities and reporting.
- Prepare reports on findings and present to senior management.
- Develop and implement departmental KYC/AML policies and procedures.
- Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to team members.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices.
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing client accounts.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Support internal and external audits related to AML/KYC compliance.
- Assist in the development of risk assessment and transaction monitoring models.
- Ensure documentation and processes are secure, consistent, and accessible.
- Manage team resources effectively, including PTO planning during high-volume periods.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of AML/KYC or compliance experience; financial services industry strongly preferred.
- Prior experience managing or mentoring staff.
- Strong knowledge of KYC/AML regulations and requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with KYC software (Alacer’s Velocity preferred).
- Excellent analytical, research, and investigative skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; able to influence across teams.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Adaptability to evolving regulatory environments.
Salary
Salary range: $80,000-$100,000
