Ladders is seeking a Senior Director, Global Study Management to guide the strategic direction for global study management across the development portfolio. The role partners with program leadership and clinical operations to strengthen governance, discipline, and cross-functional alignment, delivering studies on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Location: Remote. Compensation: $236,000 – $354,000 annually.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Director, Global Study Management to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space.

This leader will guide the strategic direction for global study management across the development portfolio, ensuring clinical trial execution is aligned with broader R&D priorities. The role will partner closely with program leadership and clinical operations stakeholders to strengthen governance, operational discipline, and cross-functional alignment. Success in this position will be measured by the team's ability to deliver studies on time, within budget, and to quality expectations while building a high-performing global organization.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $236,000 – $354,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the strategic vision for Global Study Management aligned with R&D goals.
• Contribute to department governance and operational excellence as a member of the Clinical Operations Leadership Team.
• Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing accountability and continuous learning.
• Oversee operational planning and execution of clinical trials in collaboration with Program Leadership.
• Ensure trial execution meets KPIs, timelines, quality standards, and budget targets.
• Lead and mentor Global Study Management leaders for talent retention and succession planning.
• Build functional capabilities and promote global team alignment across time zones.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in clinical trial delivery, particularly in global Phase I-IV studies.
• Deep expertise in Oncology, Rare Disease, or Neuroscience preferred.
• Extensive leadership experience in global study management or clinical operations within biopharmaceuticals or CROs.
• Proven strategic capability in organizational design and vision setting.
• Strong financial acumen for budget construction and optimization.
• Ability to balance technical details with a strategic enterprise perspective.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills at executive levels.
