Job summary

Save the Children in the United States seeks a Senior Director of Payroll to lead payroll strategy and operations across entities, including international expatriates. You will manage internal staff and external vendors, ensuring accurate, compliant, timely processing and data security.

Reporting to HR Operations, you will align payroll with benefits and timekeeping in a dynamic nonprofit setting. You will oversee global and domestic payroll, drive automation, manage audits, and support

Qualifications

• Minimum a Bachelor Degree or equivalent and at least 7 years payroll experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll.
• Experience managing payroll vendors and time/attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day payroll operations for multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Lead vendor relationships and ensure SLAs are met with accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for federal/state/local payroll tax and leave programs.
• Coach and develop payroll staff, driving process improvements and training.
