Job summary

Save the Children is seeking a Senior Director of Payroll to lead payroll strategy and operations across US entities, including international assignments. You will partner with HR, HRIS, Finance, and IT to deliver compliant, timely payroll while guiding internal teams and external vendors.

You will manage complex multi-state payroll, oversee audits, and drive process improvements with a focus on data security and regulatory compliance. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent, plus 7 years of payroll experience.
• Experience in a complex multi-state environment with regulatory requirements.
• Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll.
• Demonstrated success managing payroll vendors and third party providers.
• Experience with time & attendance and payroll software (UKG, Tenrox a plus).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day payroll operations for multiple entities.
• Manage international expatriates and third-country nationals payroll.
• Ensure accurate tax withholdings and timely payments to banks.
• Lead payroll audits and reporting for audits and statements.
• Partner with Benefits, HR and IT to optimize deductions and processes.
• Lead payroll team and manage external vendor relationships.
